12 Tone D Kurd Handpan

Discover the rich, expressive sound of our 12 Tone D Kurd Handpan, a beautifully versatile instrument designed for melodic playing, improvisation, meditation and sound-based practices.

The D Kurd scale is based around a D minor tonal centre, giving the handpan a warm, atmospheric character that can move effortlessly between gentle, meditative passages and more rhythmic, expressive playing. The additional notes of the 12-tone layout extend the melodic range, offering greater freedom for creating longer phrases and more developed compositions.

Each tone field is carefully formed to produce its own clear fundamental note with a rich resonance, while the central D Ding provides a deep, grounding bass tone. The intuitive arrangement makes it possible to explore melodies naturally using both hands.
